STARSHIP Entertainment’s new girl group KiiiKiii has sat down with ELLE Korea for the first time!
This photo shoot captures lovable and exciting moments of the five KiiiKiii members—Jiyu, Leesol, Sui, Haum, and Kya—as they prepare for their debut.
On February 16, the girl group surprised with the pre-release of their music video for “I DO ME” from their upcoming debut mini album “UNCUT GEM.” Filled with excitement over their debut, the members approached the photo shoot with joy and passion, radiating their enthusiasm throughout the session.
Along with the photo shoot, individual interviews were conducted. When asked about how she feels ahead of their long-awaited debut, leader Jiyu shared her excitement, saying, “I can’t believe the moment I’ve been dreaming of is finally coming true. I want to show everyone what we’ve worked so hard to prepare and bring them happiness.”
Reflecting on her first-ever photo shoot experience, Sui expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “I can’t believe I’m appearing in ELLE, a magazine I’ve always enjoyed reading!” She also described KiiiKiii’s identity, explaining, “We’re a team that finds various solutions while radiating wit, laughter, and positive energy, even in imperfect situations.”
Haum shared that her favorite lyric from the title track “I DO ME,” which embodies the free-spirited vibe of their debut album, is, “It doesn’t matter. I’ll be myself.” She explained, “It’s a phrase that perfectly captures the theme of the song, and that’s why I love it.”
Leesol reflected on what kept her going during their debut preparation for their debut, saying, “It was the members and our motto, ‘Do your best and leave the rest to fate.’ It means that while hard work will eventually shine through, even if it doesn’t, realizing your own worth is enough.”
As for her hopes for KiiiKiii’s future, the youngest member Kya confidently and ambitiously stated, “Creating a world where we comfort others and are comforted through music and spreading KiiiKiii’s joy across the globe!”
